On Saturday the 27th of April 2019 CMH Kempster Ford Randburg held a ride and drive fun day with a few of our faithful customers. First Ford Ranger Raptor Trial Units Produced in South Africa

The greatly anticipated Ford Ranger Raptor set to be released in the first half of 2019, has been undergoing trial builds and rigorous testing at the Silverton Assembly Plant in Pretoria. Building up towards full-scale production.

The Ford Ranger Raptor is part of the Ford Performance family and has been built from the ground up as a performance vehicle. This is not a kit to be added on or a modification that can be purchased, but a whole new vehicle and a first of its kind in this segment, setting a new benchmark.

PRETORIA, South Africa, 9 October 2018 – The dream of producing the highly anticipated Ford Ranger Raptor has come a step closer in becoming a production reality, with the first batch of trial units emerging from Ford’s Silverton Assembly Plant in Pretoria.

In preparation for full-scale production of this exhilarating all-new model, the Silverton Assembly Plant produced its first 10 official Ranger Raptor units as part of the Tooling Trials (TT) build-up phase, validating its high-tech assembly line which received an extensive upgrade through Ford’s R3-billion investment in its local operations, announced last year.

Powered by an all-new 157kW / 500Nm 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo engine assembled at Ford’s Struandale Engine Plant in Port Elizabeth, and utilising a sophisticated new 10-speed automatic transmission, the Ranger Raptor has the punch to match its muscular and aggressive design and off-road capabilities.

Combined with Position Sensitive Damping (PSD) shock absorbers exclusively manufactured by FOX, an advanced Terrain Management System (TMS) that includes an exciting Baja mode, a toughened reinforced chassis, powerful all-disc braking system and specially developed BF Goodrich tyres, the Ford Ranger Raptor is truly a gem.

Yearend functions are to rekindle friendships in the work place, lift spirits and to appreciate all the effort that the employees put in throughout the year as well as to unwind, relax and reflect.

Ford South Africa assisted by KEMPSTER FORD PRETORIA donated one Ford Transit Bus each to the Wesley Community Centre as well as to Nosa Early Learning Orphans and Vulnerable Children’s Centre. We had Ford South Africa’s representatives there to help with the hand over, it was a memorable and fun day for all involved. The smiles of the people who were there to represent the organisations were overwhelming, thank you to Johan Booysen our New Vehicle Sales Executive for taking the time to explain the specifications and user specifics of the busses to the organisations. Now we all know we live in a world where customer service is becoming key and a new marketing tool. To over-deliver service to a customer, is by far the most valuable thing to a business. Having said that, I would like to congratulate our Service Department, for delivering excellent customer service to one of our clients. They executed our core values and ethics to our customer as the Ford brand, to perfection. Mr. Dave Moran who recently brought his car in for service seems extremely happy and excited about the service he received from the service staff. Technology is ever evolving, and we see it changing. How we do things these days? The motor industry is also embracing the change in technology which is why Ford is also continuing to improve the technology in their vehicles. The question is, are you tech savvy? Learn how to use your sync 3 with these easy steps:

1. Make sure your phone is turned on when you enter your Ford Vehicle
2. Go to your settings and switch on your Bluetooth
3. Your SYNC 3 screen has a button with settings. Press the settings button
4. Choose the Bluetooth and add your device to connect
5. Your device will start to scan the number of Bluetooth devices available nearby
6. Your FORD SYNC 3 should reflect as one of the devices available
7. Select it to continue
8. You will receive a pin on both your device and your SNYC 3. This pin should be the same on both devices allowing you to pair the two devices together.
9. You may receive a pop up message on your SYNC 3 system asking you “if you would like to make your phone a favourite on the SYNC system” – You can deny or accept
10. Press “finish” to complete the process.

With these easy steps you will be able to connect your device to the SYNC 3 system and enjoy easy driving pleasure.

During the month of January, we were the proud sponsors of the Pretoria Old Motor Club, as they went on their annual Tour. We sponsored them with branded T-shirts which they wore with pride, and on the 21st of April 2018 they returned the favor and turned our showroom floor into a vintage emporium. The Saturday was abuzz with our customers coming in to experience the evolution of the Ford brand. Selfies and videos of the vintage vehicles were the order of the day. The following vintage vehicles were on display: Ford Model T 1914, Ford Model T 1926 Pickup, Ford Model A 1928 Pickup, Ford Model A 1928 Tudor, Ford Model A 1931 Roadster, Ford Model Y 1933, Ford Thunderbird 1956, Ford Fairlane Victoria 1956 ,Ford Mustang 1966 ,Ford Anglia 1200 Super 1966 ,Ford Thunderbird 1972 ,Ford Model T 1926 Tudor ,Ford Model A 1930 Tudor As an added extra to our customers, we did a lucky draw every hour, with our customers winning great vouchers from some of our partners. Our staff was not left out of the fun, as we also create an internal competition with staff members asked to wear their vintage inspired outfits for a chance o win a dinner for two vouchers. They jumped at the opportunity to participate and pulled out some great outfits. We would like to thank the Pretoria Old Motor Club for their great support and we cannot wait till we do it again next year, BIGGER & BETTER.

The most common dilemma facing new car buyers is whether to trade their existing car in to the dealer, or sell it privately.

When it’s time to upgrade your ride, you’re faced with the choice of trading it in to the dealership or selling it elsewhere. While a private sale can be a hassle, it often means getting more money for your vehicle. However, it really depends on what you have and whether the dealership would be able to structure a proper deal should you have a shortfall on your vehicle.

Selling privately

If you are trading something lightly used, chances are you will make more money if you sell it privately. We suggest you get a subject to view offer from your dealership first so you can decide whether or not it will be worth your while to try selling it privately. If you have an older vehicle with high mileage that you know might not be worth that much, your best bet will be so sell it to a private buyer.

Just keep in mind that it comes with a bit more hassle and safety risks while being a lot more time conceiving and stressful.

When to trade

There are 2 major benefits when trading your vehicle in, opposed to selling it privately.

First benefit is that you are spared the risk and hassle of preparing, advertising, and selling your vehicle. It is convenient to drop your car off at the dealership and going home with another.

Also, when your trade value is much lower than the outstanding settlement, it makes it almost impossible to sell your vehicle privately, as the shortfall will be too much. Dealerships have the ability to load that balance into the next loan or lease.

The key thing is to be realistic about your vehicle’s trade value. Have a look at what similar vehicles to yours are selling for on local web sites. Keep in mind that most dealers will make an offer based on what the current market value is.
