It is always exciting when we expand our Ford Family! We are glad to introduce and welcome Delon Naicker into the CMH Kempster Ford Umgeni Family.
We have gotten to know him on a personal level and here are few things you can read about this great guy.
Delon has been working for CMH Kempster Ford for the past 5 months and is really enjoying it.
What has been his greatest achievement in the dealership so far? He would have to say being moulded into a great salesman, as he was not really familiar about how much he had to unlock inside of him.
The thing he enjoys most about his day to day in the office is communicating with so many different customers and sharing one of the greatest memories with them when purchasing a vehicle. Just making a customer smile already warms his heart on another level.
He was so excited to talk about his favourite vehicle and we guessed that would have to be the super sleek and speedy Ford Focus RS!
So we were trying to figure out what would be his dream destination but could not guess it. He is such a romantic human and says that he would love to go to Paris, as this is the City of Love. He dreams of one day making this wish a reality and spoiling his beautiful wife with this experience.
Delon is such a unique person. When we asked him if he was stranded on an Island what would be the 3 items he would love to have with him? He said it would have to be a boat, a cell phone and a fishing rod for him to unwind and feel the pleasure of catching fish.
His motto in life would have to be the famous YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE aka YOLO.
Food is something we all love and for Delon that is not a new topic to him. He simply loves food and his absolute favourite is Chinese.
We asked Delon where he sees himself in 5 years? He answered so confidently that he would like to finish his studies and still be working for the CMH Group. What a loyal and dedicated young man!
Make sure to ask for Delon Naicker when you looking for a pre-owned vehicle at CMH Kempster Ford Umgeni.

When it’s time to upgrade your ride, you’re faced with the choice of trading it in to the dealership or selling it elsewhere. While a private sale can be a hassle, it often means getting more money for your vehicle. However, it really depends on what you have and whether the dealership would be able to structure a proper deal should you have a shortfall on your vehicle.
Selling privately
If you are trading something lightly used, chances are you will make more money if you sell it privately. We suggest you get a subject to view offer from your dealership first so you can decide whether or not it will be worth your while to try selling it privately. If you have an older vehicle with high mileage that you know might not be worth that much, your best bet will be so sell it to a private buyer.
Just keep in mind that it comes with a bit more hassle and safety risks while being a lot more time conceiving and stressful.
When to trade
There are 2 major benefits when trading your vehicle in, opposed to selling it privately.
First benefit is that you are spared the risk and hassle of preparing, advertising, and selling your vehicle. It is convenient to drop your car off at the dealership and going home with another.
Also, when you’re trade value is much lower than the outstanding settlement, it makes it almost impossible to sell your vehicle privately, as the shortfall will be too much. Dealerships have the ability to load that balance into the next loan or lease.
The key thing is to be realistic about your vehicle’s trade value. Have a look at what similar vehicles to yours are selling for on local web sites. Keep in mind that most dealers will make an offer based on what the current market value is.
Start fresh this 2018, bring your vehicle for an evaluation, choose from our wide variety of used or new Ford vehicles and drive off in your new ride.
For trade-ins or if you would like to sell your vehicle, you are more than welcome to contact CMH Kempster Ford Pretoria North on 012 404 9200 or visit us at 617 Johan Heyns Drive, Gezina, Pretoria.

There is very little risk when purchasing new, as you can almost be certain that there will be no damage, and that the vehicle was never involved in an accident.
Most brands sell their vehicles standard with a factory warranty and in most cases, service plans included.
The only negative is that a new car usually costs a lot more, and you can be assured that the initial depreciation in value will be quite significant.
On the other hand, you can get much more bang for your buck when purchasing a used car, and most of the major initial depreciation already occurred. But how do I know if I am buying a properly looked-after vehicle?
There are things to look out for when buying a second-hand vehicle. From the outside, it would be noticeable damage.
This can come in many shapes and sizes. Keep an eye out for mismatched paint, abnormal panel gaps and new lights and lenses that don't match the others - these are indicators of past accident damage.
Another must is to check the service history. A car that has been well-maintained and serviced on a regular basis will have a higher value than those that are not cared for.
Another must is the mileage. If a vehicle is in good condition but has high mileage, it should set off alarm bells and the same goes for older cars with very low mileage that shows the aforementioned signs of wear and tear.
Whether buying new or used, most important is that you feel satisfied with the purchase you made and that the vehicle suits your individual needs.
With all the incredible and unique vehicles we have to offer from used to new, you will definitely find something that will suit your lifestyle, needs and budget. We also have various finance options available and the best sales executives to ensure that your overall purchasing experience at CMH Ford Pretoria North is a satisfactory one.

We all witnessed the horrible storm that happened in Durban on Tuesday 10 October 2017, leaving many of the City’s residents homeless after the strong winds gashed down their homes and destroyed all their belongings.
At Kempster Ford Umhlanga, together with Ford South Africa Wildlife, we decided to give a little bit back to the community, by offering assistance and showing support by donating food parcels to St Martins, a children’s home that was affected badly by the storm.
Joining in was the official brand ambassador for the Ford Wildlife Foundation, Gabriel Sithole, a popular South African radio presenter, photographer and wildlife conservationist. When we arrived at St Martins the staff welcomed us and accepted the food parcels. I must say it was a heart-warming moment to see the appreciation on their faces. We would like to thank everyone else who donated not only to the home but also to any other areas that needed assistance after this tragic event occurred.
We would also like to thank our Dealer Principal, Mr Clive Wainright, who made all of this possible. It’s always a pleasure to give back to the community, giving a helping hand is what we do best at CMH Kempster Ford Umhlanga.

We ended 2017 with a bang, and we hosted our customer to a day where they could experience “the beast” in action. We were fortunate enough to have a great turnout of 350 people, all queuing to see this amazing vehicle. The order of the day was very simple, all our customers had to do was sign their names in an indemnity form, take a ride in the 5 Litre Mustang and enjoy good food.
We wanted our customers to enjoy the day with no disturbance and thus we created a kiddies section, where all parents that attended could live the kids in a secure place with adult supervision. As if this was not enough, every hour on the hour we surprised our customers with a lucky draw, and give-away some of our favourite ford merchandises.
The day would not have been possible if we did not have the great support from our partners of the Event.
The Christmas holiday is around the corner and the roads will be filled with people travelling home or to their holiday destinations. It’s always a good idea to make sure your vehicle is in tip-top shape to ensure your safety and that of others on the road.
Ensure your battery is working. Check that the terminals are clean. If they have a powder on them it means acid is leaking and it needs to be changed. The life of a battery is 3 to 6 years so if you know your battery is older than 4 years it’s wise to change it.
Check your oil regularly. You can stop at any service station and they will do this for you. They will open the hood and pull out the engine dipstick. Wipe it with a clean rag and put it back in fully. Pull it out again and check the level if it is not on full or close to the full mark, you need to add more engine oil. Take care not to overfill the oil as this may cause leaks.
Ask a friend or family member to help you check if your indicators, park lights and brake lights are all working. If you are towing a trailer or caravan, make sure all the electronics are connected and working properly. Most service centres will be having specials on re-gassing aircons during summer, so take advantage of that.
Ensure that the tyre pressure is accurate. It’s usually written somewhere on the interior of the vehicle. Check that you have a spare wheel, and the equipment needed to change it if you get a flat. Another important thing is to know how to change the tyre. What good is having all the material and not being able to use it.
It’s dangerous to be stranded on the side of the road.
Book your car in for service at Kempster Ford Randburg and stay safe.

3: Always maintain a safe following distance! When the roads are wet they offer less grip, so allow plenty of room between you and the vehicles in front of and behind you to be safe.
4: Stay Informed! Make sure you check traffic websites before you head out that way you will know whether roads are open or closed. Plan your journey to avoid trouble spots and watch the weather forecast.
5: Patience is key! Patience needs to be applied in all aspects when the roads are wet as the journey can take much longer when there are poor weather conditions. It is not worth it to rush.
6: Vision is vital! Always keep your eyes ahead when driving, and make sure to always watch the vehicles around you.
7: Tread softly! Harsh breaking or acceleration can upset the stability of the vehicle. Traction and stability should be active at all times.
8: Keep an eye out for debris! In events of bad weather, storms tend to leave rubbish on the roads. Some of these could be dangerous while driving, so make sure you look for objects such as tree branches and smaller objects which could cause punctures.
9: Avoid puddles! Always stay away from gutters where large amounts of water can gather. Cars and water do not mix! If you do come across deep water, slow down gently and maintain control of the steering wheel, then continue with your journey.
10: These are tips to keep you safe and sound as you head out. In an event you venture into stormy weather, make sure to stay calm. Try to handle the situation as best as possible and keep everyone in the vehicle calm and at ease.
These helpful tips are brought to you by CMH Kempster Ford Durban. Visit us at 901 Umgeni Road, Durban or call our Team on 031 313 0800.
