How does vehicle finance work?

A financial lease lets you use the vehicle as your own, without owning it. You pay monthly instalments over a specified repayment period (up to 84 months), and once the lease is up, you have the option of owning or returning it. Do pre-approvals hurt your credit score?

Inquiries for pre-approved offers do not affect your credit score unless you follow through and apply for the credit. Anyone who receives an offer still must fill out an application before being granted credit.

Our finance department is on the ball when it comes to getting you approved BUT most important to note is provided, we have all your correct documents, and all checks have been verified, we can get you same-day approval. Approval sometimes takes longer in cases like confirming employment/ verifying company information.

Approval is valid for 1 WEEK (although bank papers say 30 days) this is due to ITC updating every 7 days, so this means you might get approved now, but if a customer takes longer to accept the approval and ITC updates it might decline the deal afterwards.

Your child is by far the most precious cargo your vehicle will ever have to carry. We love our children and would never want anything to happen to them, yet here in South Africa, we still boast relatively low awareness of car seat safety. It's critical to have your child - of any age, from infant to adolescent - properly restrained on every trip.

Why this is crucial

Road accidents are the second leading cause of death for children aged 5 to 14 in South Africa. According to the Automobile Association of South Africa, it is the law that any child under the age of three is in a properly secured car seat. A car seat can help reduce the likelihood of a fatal crash. Studies have shown that children who aren't properly restrained, and who are involved in crashes - even at slower speeds - have more chance of being seriously injured or, more tragically, killed, than those who are.

Most Ford vehicles feature standard Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH), compatible with many car seats, but parents should always double-check that their car seat can be properly attached to the vehicle's lower and top tether anchors. It's important to take into account all the other vehicles this car seat may likely be used in as well.

Where, when, and why

Rear-facing car seats are the safest way for infants and young children to travel in. Ford recommends that you keep your child in one until they have exceeded the highest weight or height allowed by your car seat manufacturer before transitioning to a forward-facing seat. There are also lots of convertible car seats out there now that can be used both as rear-facing and forward-facing seats.

Take care to ensure the car seat is reclined at a correct angle so your child's head isn't flopping forward. Babies, in particular, need to be placed semi-reclined so that their airways are kept open. Bear in mind that you may need to readjust the seat as your child grows. Once your child outgrows their car seat, it's imperative to introduce a booster seat. This is because, at that point, most children might still not be tall enough or weigh enough for an adult seat belt to fit snugly around them. Children must be about 1.5 meters - with the lap belt low on their hips and pelvis and the shoulder belt resting comfortably on the middle of their chest and shoulder - before a seat belt is appropriate.

October has been a month of change, the vibe in the dealership is rocking and we slowly trying to turn the corner to greater landings.

With that been said we started off our month of October with some of our awesome call centre ladies singing the anthem for us out side the parts division in all 3 the official languages. We ended off heritage month with a start to the new month on such a positive note. This was absolutely beautiful.

With Boss’s day slap bang in the middle of the month but falling on a Saturday, we celebrated their special day on Friday, handing over small gifts of appreciation.

Then our Used Cars team decided to host a Breakfast run for all our Ford clients to Hartbeespoort to build up some spirit in the dealership. Everybody joined up at the dealership at 9 and left in a convoy at 10 to a nice Roadhouse venue. Good friendships were built up between everybody and this was the first of many more events like this to follow.

Finally as the month comes to a end, Halloween stares us in the face. We will be displaying some of our new and used vehicles at Loftus at the Halloween sponsored event on Saturday 30th. Live entertainment is taking place and a good crowd of people is expected, we are hoping to get some good prospects at this event.

And now we start looking forward to November, its time to be festive and jolly and we will be running into November with the new StormTrak lighting up the sky in RED for Christmas is around the corner.

The Limited-edition All-New Ford Mustang California Special fastback 5.0 GT features a significant number of innovative technologies, providing drivers with intensified information, control, and connectivity. The team at CMH Kempster Ford Durban, along with a few of our customers, enjoyed an adventure-filled 4x4 weekend at Black Rock, near Kosibay, courtesy of Ford South Africa.

It has been a weekend full of sand trails, adrenaline-pumping experiences, bombing ranges and much more. The event began with a 4x4 tech talk on how to best prepare your vehicle for the toughest roads. Our very brave drivers also learned how to plan and evaluate angles correctly before taking on an obstacle.

We were able to refresh and align our perspective on off-road driving due to this trip since there are many points to note before beginning to drive. We thoroughly enjoyed all activities, from being blindfolded while tackling obstacles to climbing daunting sand dunes!

After all that action, our team certainly worked up some appetites - kudos to our talented chefs! As the weekend progressed, we had the opportunity to interact with the Ford family from various parts of KZN and enjoy the pristine scenery of Black Rock.

From this trip, we learned many valuable tips and tricks that we will be sure to share with our future Ford Ranger 4x4 drivers, so you can too enjoy the full 4x4 experience.

Wow, what a month August has been. We celebrated birthdays, women’s day, a Farewell, and many other events.

On a cool early Winters morning, our pre-owned sales executives decided to display some of our awesome vehicles on the main highway intersection that leads to our dealership. This display created such a presence that we had numerous clients phoning in and some emailing us complimenting us on the great initiative. Our Staff had such Fun that day, people were hooting and waving, a video was taken and has been posted on our Facebook page and a great presence was created. This is the beginning of greater things to come.

August was a great birthday month in the dealership. We celebrated 4 staff members special day.

Marissa our F & I for new cars, Collen our sales executive for new cars, Dudu our Intern and Johanna our receptionist all had their special day in August. A small gift was handed over to each of these special people and to see the appreciation and excitement in their faces, makes it so special, as birthdays are meant to be celebrated.

In addition, this month was Women's Month, so we had an event in the dealership to celebrate. On the 9th of August, our dealership was open until noon, where we advertised a test drive on the all-new EcoSport special, as well as prizes to be won. Additionally, we had hampers made for the ladies. During a normal day at work, the ladies work hard, support each other, and keep the esprit high. Having FUN in the dealership is what makes us an awesome TEAM.

And finally, we said our final Goodbye/Farewell to Kea on 26th August. Kea was the Lead master/Academy Ambassador at CMH Ford Hatfield for the past 4 years. She has been such an inspiration to many of the Staff and has been a great asset to the dealership. We wish her well with her new endeavours and know she will make a huge success going forward. CMH Ford Hatfield will miss you very much Kea, you imprinted on our Hearts.

The Stormtrak is coming after The Ranger Thunder!

Since its launch a year ago, the Stormtrak has been exceptionally well received, proving unambiguously that there is a market for range-topping models that are different from the norm.

With that said, Ranger Stormtrak follows the same recipe as the limited-edition Thunder, enhancing the style, sophistication, and exclusivity of the most luxurious model in our line-up.

At CMH STEYN'S Ford, changes have been taking place, as have a few new faces in the building. This change is happening all because we want to enhance the service you receive from us and make it nothing other than excellent.

Because you are part of our Family, we want you to meet the new faces behind the excellent service CMH Steyn’s Ford renders.

DEALER PRINCIPAL:

As a New Vehicle Sales Exec, Juran Bekker began his career in the motor industry learning everything from scratch, but that was his goal because it was his first break into the industry. He pursued great results and provided excellent customer service.

He started in one of our sister branches where he learned and perfected his craft, Juran then got a promotion to a position as a New Vehicles Sales Manager.

CMH Steyn's Ford welcomed Mr Bekker as our Dealer Principal in March 2021. According to Juran, he has a passion for people and providing excellent customer service. For him, the best result is a satisfied customer whether it is in the Service Department, New Vehicle Sales, Pre-owned Vehicle Sales and Parts Department since every customer is special and should be treated as such under his leadership.

Juran says his goal is to give CMH Steyn's Ford a complete overhaul as part of the initiative to revive business in Pretoria CBD and provide our customers with a world-class dealership experience.

NEW VEHICLES SALES MANAGER:

Eugene Greeff started his career in the motor industry with Nissan, Alfa & Fiat in 2004 as a sales executive after growing up on the farm. He began his career in 2007 as a sales manager and moved to full-time management later in his career.

As Eugene rose through the ranks, he later became a Regional Manager, and then a Dealer Principal. 3 dealerships have gone from average-performing to top-10 in less than a year in their various categories under his guidance.

As Eugene makes clear, "What drives me is my work and our products". He recalls growing up around his father's Ford Cortina bakkie, which fascinated him from a young age.

Eugene believes attitude plays a major role in life. He says that a smile on the faces of customers makes every day fruitful. “Knowing that you help people with one of the biggest investments in their lives makes every second super.

Customer satisfaction is his highest priority, and a customer's smile is his best reference.

PRE-OWNED VEHICLES SALES MANAGER:

In addition to over 30 years of experience in the motor industry, Norman Chauke started as a sales exec before working his way up.

Drive and dedication will always result in excellent results according to Norman.

He is passionate about customer service and has a positive attitude towards his work. Norman says in the department that he is in, the customer needs to trust you and what you are offering and states that that’s where honesty and integrity come in.

In his opinion, you should put the needs of your customers first and assist them as much as possible.

Through the years he also learned that as a manager you must take care of your staff, as they will take care of your customers, and happy customers will always bring you more business.

SERVICE / WORKSHOP MANAGER:

Jacques Claassen is a joyous and eager professional who says his focus is to deliver outstanding customer service. He has worked in the service industry for over 22 years. His highest priority is to arrive at work well before the job starts so that he is prepared for the schedule ahead.

Being involved in all aspects of the service department is also very important to him. He assists in checking in all the customers each morning, chatting with them as he does so.

One thing he emphasizes as he rarely sits at a desk is being hands-on in the actual work in the workshop, asking for information from technicians, workshop foreman, and service advisors about every single vehicle in the workshop, and stating how important customers are to him.

As well as believing in teamwork, he says if there is teamwork, everyone works towards the same goal and the results of teamwork are always excellent. He says in the 22 years of service he has learned that if you look after your customers, they will look after you.

Limited-Edition Ranger Stormtrak confirmed for local introduction

In response to the remarkable success of the limited-edition Ford Ranger Thunder in 2020, Ford South Africa is introducing another unique and appealing model based on the upmarket Wildtrak - the Ranger Stormtrak - later this year.

“The Ranger Thunder was exceptionally well received when we launched it a year ago, proving unequivocally that there is strong demand for range-topping models that offer something different from the norm. The new Ranger Stormtrak follows the same recipe as the limited-edition Thunder, by elevating the style, sophistication and exclusivity of our most luxuriously appointed model in the Ranger line-up,” says Doreen Mashinini, General Manager for Marketing at Ford South Africa.

As with the Thunder edition, the Ranger Stormtrak is based on the Wildtrak derivative, bridging the gap between that and the Raptor variant. A mesh grille with red inserts along with a black insert in the lower bumper, black decals on the bonnet and doors, black roof rails, and gloss black 18-inch alloy wheels distinguish the new edition. Additionally, you'll find 'Stormtrak' logos on the lower front doors and the tailgate.

There are three exterior colours available for the Ranger Stormtrak: Sea Grey, Frozen White and Blue Lightning. However, the exclusive new colour, Lucid Red, is the one you'll want. Ford has added more than flashy aesthetics to the new edition of the F-150, as it also has some practical features, including a load bed divider kit, a bedliner and a Power Roller Shutter.

Ford's flagship 2,0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine produces 157 kW and 500 N.m. and is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Inside, the Ranger Stormtrak features illuminated scuff plates, leather seats with the Stormtrak logo, and red contrast stitching, which appears on the dashboard, steering wheel, and gear lever. Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Collision Alert, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping Alert, Parallel Park Assist and Sync3 infotainment system with built-in navigation and FordPass remote access are among the standard features.
