In the spirit of WOMEN’S DAY, we at CMH Kempster Ford Umgeni headed over to KERR HOUSE- The Durban hospice for abused and destitute women.

Domestic violence, abuse and rape are a few of the many things the women in our local society go through on a daily basis. We decided to take these WONDER WOMEN goodie bags filled with health and hygiene necessities, along with an array of toys and games for the kids.

CMH Kempster Ford Umgeni is proud to have been able to contribute to one of our very own local organisations. KERR HOUSE offers support to women coming from all walks of life. They are dedicated to providing counselling, relief and rehabilitation to the women housed there.

The Ladies at KERR HOUSE invited us in with a warm welcome and big smile, we truly admire the long hours and hard work the social workers and care takers have put into making this shelter a success. We are truly inspired by the level of patience, commitment and dedication put in by the WONDER WOMEN who give their time an effort to this amazing place.

We hope KERR HOUSE continues in their dedicated efforts to help abused women and we wish them growth and prosperity in the future years to come.

October being BREAST CANCER AWARENESS month, CMH KEMPSTER FORD UMGENI hosted the CANSA Durban team at our dealership. A colourful sprayathon was the event for the day – and what fun it was! The staff, along with people passing by had come over to get in on the action. CMH KEMPSTER FORD is proud to have been a part of an initiative that enables research with regards to lowering cancer risk, educating the public on the symptoms and risk reductions as well as providing care and support to all people affected by various types of cancer. We are absolutely delighted to have hosted CANSA Durban and their wonderful volunteers. Their hard work, dedication ,passion and effort that is put into assisting those with cancer is truly admirable.

CMH KEMPSTER FORD hopes that all the donations that were made will bring smiles, happiness and comfort to those trying to overcome various types of cancer. Most importantly, we encourage people from all walks of life to RESEARCH, EDUCATE AND SUPPORT this valuable cause.

The Festive Season also known as the “Silly Season” is around the corner, and we at CMH Kempster Ford Hatfield are very excited, however we also have to take into account some of the not so great things that happen during this time of the year. CMH Kempster Ford Hatfield is on a true safety drive, as we would like to equip our customers with the necessary information to protect themselves during this time. On the 20th of October CMH Kempster Ford Hatfield hosted a Hijack prevention and security awareness course in partnership with the NHPA (National Hijack Prevention Association).

CMH Kempster Ford Hatfield customers were educated about how they can avoid a hijack situation, and other topics covered were:

• Definition of a hijack, when and where it all started.
• Objectives:
• To improve awareness, enabling you to pre-empt a possible attack & avoid it.
• How to get yourself, children, passengers safely out of the vehicle in the event of a hijacking.
• Motivation behind attacks / Different categories of hijacked vehicles.
• Factors that lead to attacks.
• Popular locations (top 12 locations) & current modus operandi used.
• Operational techniques of the static attacker. Vehicle to vehicle attack / being followed.
• Risks whilst driving at night & how best to overcome them.
• How to react during an attack, should you fall victim to the crime.
• Practical around a stationary vehicle:
• How to behave in a non-threatening manner & exit the vehicle safely.
• How to become a smaller target / protect vital points to increase your chances of survival.
• How to look after the safety of children / passengers.
• Additional crime topics:
• Smash & Grab Attacks
• Housebreaking & Dog Poisoning

Our customers were very happy and felt that they needed another course of such a nature, thus we are hosting another safety drive on the 17th of November 2018 at CMH Kempster Ford Hatfield, situated on corner Jan Shoba and Park Street in Hatfield Pretoria and this time around we focus on self-defence. First Ford Ranger Raptor Trial Units Produced in South Africa

The greatly anticipated Ford Ranger Raptor set to be released in the first half of 2019, has been undergoing trial builds and rigorous testing at the Silverton Assembly Plant in Pretoria. Building up towards full-scale production.

The Ford Ranger Raptor is part of the Ford Performance family and has been built from the ground up as a performance vehicle. This is not a kit to be added on or a modification that can be purchased, but a whole new vehicle and a first of its kind in this segment, setting a new benchmark.

PRETORIA, South Africa, 9 October 2018 – The dream of producing the highly anticipated Ford Ranger Raptor has come a step closer in becoming a production reality, with the first batch of trial units emerging from Ford’s Silverton Assembly Plant in Pretoria.

In preparation for full-scale production of this exhilarating all-new model, the Silverton Assembly Plant produced its first 10 official Ranger Raptor units as part of the Tooling Trials (TT) build-up phase, validating its high-tech assembly line which received an extensive upgrade through Ford’s R3-billion investment in its local operations, announced last year.

Powered by an all-new 157kW / 500Nm 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo engine assembled at Ford’s Struandale Engine Plant in Port Elizabeth, and utilising a sophisticated new 10-speed automatic transmission, the Ranger Raptor has the punch to match its muscular and aggressive design and off-road capabilities.

Combined with Position Sensitive Damping (PSD) shock absorbers exclusively manufactured by FOX, an advanced Terrain Management System (TMS) that includes an exciting Baja mode, a toughened reinforced chassis, powerful all-disc braking system and specially developed BF Goodrich tyres, the Ford Ranger Raptor is truly a gem.

What a year that was at CMH Kempster Ford Pretoria North, each year we like to reflect on the year we had as a Dealership and this year has been no different.

Our year end function was held on the 16 November 2018 to celebrate our successes and appreciate the lessons.

This will mean as a dealer we had to thank our dealer Principal Mr Heine Venter for signing the cheque that had to make all of this possible.

We were at Hawaii (well not literally…) but our theme was Hawaii, it was nothing short of colour, Festive, Fun and celebration.

We celebrated achievements of colleagues who went the extra mile to make us the number one dealership in service delivery.

As much as there was joy, we were saddened as it was announcement that Tinus Van der Walt our Used cars manager will be leaving the dealership, we wish him well and nothing but the best on his new chapter.

We enjoyed delicious food, great conversations, good laughs and of course great music accompanied by some great moves.

Yearend functions are to rekindle friendships in the work place, lift spirits and to appreciate all the effort that the employees put in throughout the year as well as to unwind, relax and reflect.

We at CMH KEMPSTER FORD PRETORIA are very proud to be part of Ford South Africa's CSI initiative. Ford South Africa assisted by KEMPSTER FORD PRETORIA donated one Ford Transit Bus each to the Wesley Community Centre as well as to Nosa Early Learning Orphans and Vulnerable Children’s Centre. We had Ford South Africa’s representatives there to help with the hand over, it was a memorable and fun day for all involved. The smiles of the people who were there to represent the organisations were overwhelming, thank you to Johan Booysen our New Vehicle Sales Executive for taking the time to explain the specifications and user specifics of the busses to the organisations. He made sure the individuals were comfortable and ready to use these great vehicles. We believe we will keep the good relationship going further. The CMH Kempster Ford Durban South’s Team has decided to join Fit 4 Life’s 12 week full body transformation challenge on the Bluff and CMH Kempster Ford Durban South have sponsored us. This challenge is designed to decrease body fat, increase lean muscle mass and strengthen the core. We are all different shapes and sizes, and all ages, some of us are total beginners and others are athletes. Our team has decided that we must lose weight before summer. Fit 4 Life say we will lose weight, get ripped and tone up. We train four times a week with a professional trainer in an intimate and energized group. The Training environment is specially designed circuits which includes resistance training, strength training, cardio, kettle-bells, stretching and plyometric training. Every single workout is different and even though we might have started off slow, in 12 weeks we will look back and smile. Never mind looking and feeling great. We were privately assessed at the beginning of the challenge and will be checked again at the end of the 12 weeks. Measurements and photographs were taken and then at the end more will be taken to track each person’s progress and this will be used when judging the winners. 12 weeks of dedication to both training and diet plus hard work that will be giving us amazing results as well as a new love for fitness and training. We will be leading a happier, healthier, stronger, leaner and certainly a much fitter lifestyle. Like every busy year comes to an end success, achievements and new friendships in the dealership needs to be celebrated and this one was the first year-end function with our new Dealer Principal, Heine Venter, who joined us in March. We would just like to take a moment to thank and appreciate Heine for the pleasant and inspiring person that he is and for the positive impact he has on the dealership. He fitted right in from the start and made a great difference, not just in the dealership but in each and everyone’s life. We hope that this was the first of many more year-end functions to be celebrated with you! We enjoyed the day at LA Sport where we kick-started the day with some fun in the sun, adrenaline rushing off-roading on their 4x4 track where we experienced the real science of tough with our incredible Ford Ranger. We also celebrated some achievements from Ford Academy which we are very proud of... Dirk Coetzee, our parts sales consultant, enrolled as Honorary Platinum Member which is the highest possible achievement and successfully completed all training possible through Ford Academy. The following people successfully attained the prescribed levels of professional achievements and enrolled as platinum members: -Lizette Korb, our Academy Ambassador who makes sure we all get the necessary training to deliver the utmost best service and experience to our customers -Martin Neethling, our used car sales executive, who has the necessary product knowledge and sales skills to make your buying experience the most enjoyable one. -Susan Pienaar, our Stock Controller who knows all the Ford models by heart and is making sure we have enough stock available. -Tinus van der Walt, our Used Car Manager who makes sure that everything runs accordingly with the necessary management and coaching skills, product knowledge and knows how to deliver the best service to our customers. With the smell of a proper spitbraai, the sound of the best music and vibrant vibes from the staff members it is needless to say that we had the time of our lives! We all need to get to our destinations at any given time, however, we cannot predict the weather. We can, however, take precautions to arrive alive during the stormy conditions and there are a few things we all need to take into consideration when we head out. These are some tips you need to keep in mind when travelling: 1: Slow Down. There are minimum and maximum speeds for a reason, make sure you keep within the limit always. 2: Turn your headlights on! When driving in bad weather, it is very important for you to be able to see other motorists as well as them seeing you. 3: Always maintain a safe following distance! When the roads are wet they offer less grip, so allow plenty of room between you and the vehicles in front of and behind you to be safe. 4: Stay Informed! Make sure you check traffic websites before you head out that way you will know whether roads are open or closed. Plan your journey to avoid trouble spots and watch the weather forecast. 5: Patience is key! Patience needs to be applied in all aspects when the roads are wet as the journey can take much longer when there are poor weather conditions. It is not worth it to rush. 6: Vision is vital! Always keep your eyes ahead when driving, and make sure to always watch the vehicles around you. 7: Tread softly! Harsh breaking or acceleration can upset the stability of the vehicle. Traction and stability should be active at all times. 8: Keep an eye out for debris! In events of bad weather, storms tend to leave rubbish on the roads. Some of these could be dangerous while driving, so make sure you look for objects such as tree branches and smaller objects which could cause punctures. 9: Avoid puddles! Always stay away from gutters where large amounts of water can gather. Cars and water do not mix! If you do come across deep water, slow down gently and maintain control of the steering wheel, then continue with your journey. 10: These are tips to keep you safe and sound as you head out. In an event you venture into stormy weather, make sure to stay calm. Try to handle the situation as best as possible and keep everyone in the vehicle calm and at ease. The year is coming to an end and this is usually the time to make resolutions and reflect on the year that was. The Kempster Ford Randburg family got a bigger this year. We got new customers coming to purchase their very first vehicles from us. We got returning customers coming to buy bigger cars as their families were getting bigger. We celebrated our accountant getting her second baby. We got a new Dealer principal, Peet Raas Our new car sales manager got a promotion from being a salesman  We rebuilt a wall  We received several accolades as a dealership Sarel our used car manager won long service award and Tatenda our leadmaster won the average leads quarterly competition for 3 quarters.
