What a year that was at CMH Kempster Ford Pretoria North, each year we like to reflect on the year we had as a Dealership and this year has been no different.
Our year end function was held on the 16 November 2018 to celebrate our successes and appreciate the lessons.
This will mean as a dealer we had to thank our dealer Principal Mr Heine Venter for signing the cheque that had to make all of this possible.
We were at Hawaii (well not literally…) but our theme was Hawaii, it was nothing short of colour, Festive, Fun and celebration.
We celebrated achievements of colleagues who went the extra mile to make us the number one dealership in service delivery.
As much as there was joy, we were saddened as it was announcement that Tinus Van der Walt our Used cars manager will be leaving the dealership, we wish him well and nothing but the best on his new chapter.
We enjoyed delicious food, great conversations, good laughs and of course great music accompanied by some great moves.
Yearend functions are to rekindle friendships in the work place, lift spirits and to appreciate all the effort that the employees put in throughout the year as well as to unwind, relax and reflect.
Let us take this opportunity to wish each and every member of the CMH Ford Gezina family a safe and happy Festive season with nothing but joy, Peace and love.

Ford South Africa assisted by KEMPSTER FORD PRETORIA donated one Ford Transit Bus each to the Wesley Community Centre as well as to Nosa Early Learning Orphans and Vulnerable Children’s Centre. We had Ford South Africa’s representatives there to help with the hand over, it was a memorable and fun day for all involved.
The smiles of the people who were there to represent the organisations were overwhelming, thank you to Johan Booysen our New Vehicle Sales Executive for taking the time to explain the specifications and user specifics of the busses to the organisations. He made sure the individuals were comfortable and ready to use these great vehicles.

Having said that, I would like to congratulate our Service Department, for delivering excellent customer service to one of our clients. They executed our core values and ethics to our customer as the Ford brand, to perfection.
Mr. Dave Moran who recently brought his car in for service seems extremely happy and excited about the service he received from the service staff. He wrote an email to our dealership in which he had this to say:

As an added extra to our customers, we did a lucky draw every hour, with our customers winning great vouchers from some of our partners. Our staff was not left out of the fun, as we also create an internal competition with staff members asked to wear their vintage inspired outfits for a chance o win a dinner for two vouchers. They jumped at the opportunity to participate and pulled out some great outfits. We would like to thank the Pretoria Old Motor Club for their great support and we cannot wait till we do it again next year, BIGGER & BETTER.

Whether you are planning on going to the coast this year or the bushveld, there are certain precautions that you can take when travelling by vehicle to ensure that your trip runs as smooth as possible.
Here at CMH Kempster Ford Pretoria North, our workshop offers a free holiday inspection this December for your vehicle, so make sure that you phone us on 012 404 9200 and ask for one of our service consultants to book an inspection for your vehicle.
If you aren’t in the position to book your vehicle in with us, but still planning on going on a long trip, here are some steps that you can follow to help you drive safe and avoid any breakdowns or mechanical issues;
1 - Check the fluids in your car. Checking the oil, coolant, brake fluid and windscreen wash levels may help you avoid an accident or an unnecessary breakdown. Also check the levels for the clutch fluid (often the same as brake fluid) and power steering fluid (if fitted to your car). Refer to your owner's manual to see where fluid reservoirs are located.
2 - Check your air pressure. These should be printed in the owner's manual or a sticker on the body where the driver's door shuts. The pressure marked on the side of the tire is the max, which must not be exceeded. Also, don't forget to check your spare tire pressure. Often neglected, not doing so will turn a bad time into a worse one if the spare is unusable.
3 - Get the oil changed before you leave if it's almost time for a change. A long trip can put additional stress on your motor. Don't think that adding extra oil by yourself will work like an oil change because that does not get rid of the sludge from old used oil. You may not realize this due to the fact that you are continuously adding new, cleaner oil which makes it appear as if it is clean oil. When changing your car's oil, you must always replace the oil filter at the same time.
4 - Check your tire wear. Ensure you have at least 1/16th" or 1.6mm tread left. If the tread is less than 1/12" or 2.5mm, consider replacing your tires for very long journeys as they will wear down more quickly. Tires heat up on long trips which can cause blowouts on worn out tires.
5 - Check your car's air filter. A plentiful supply of clean air to your engine improves the vehicle's performance and efficiency. Also check and change your car's cabin (pollen) filter if it has one, as these are often ignored in services and, if worn, adversely affect the quality of air in the cabin.
6 - Wash your car. At the minimum, clean the windows of your car for the best visibility. Also, check the condition of your wiper blades and replace them if necessary.
7 - Check to be certain that all lights and signals are functional on your car. You may need the help of another person for this. Sit in the car, turn on each light or signal and ask your friend to tell you if it is working or not. Replace bulbs as necessary. Also, consider carrying spare bulbs on a road trip.
8 - Ensure that you have all emergency equipment inside your car and that everything works properly. Emergency equipment includes an up-to-date map or GPS, a cell phone, spare tire, a puncture repair kit, jumper cables and emergency tools like a flashlight, screwdrivers, pliers and an adjustable spanner.
If you only follow these few simple steps, you'll be free to just roll down the windows, turn on the radio and enjoy the open road! Don't forget the coffee!

Sizwe Sibisi has been working at CMH Kempster Ford Durban for the past 3 years. He started working here on the 10th of October 2014 and has never looked back. He has come a long way, facing many challenges on his journey to the top. That, however, has not stopped him nor slowed him down from chasing the prize.
He has a motto that always keeps him on the straight and narrow road. This motto is “NEVER LOSE FOCUS” which has brought him this far.
Sizwe enjoys meeting with friends and socializing in his spare time. He loves creating memories and simply believes that these special memories stay in one's heart as one grows.
His favourite food is meat off the braai, well, in fact, any meat as long as it’s “NYAMA” as he would say it.
His dream vehicle is a Ford Ranger Wildtrak. He loves the drive, the look and the way it makes him look as well.
Along the way it has been both a great and a difficult journey, but the team has always made things so much better, he feels, which helps him to overcome anything he sets his mind to.
Sizwe: “My great achievement would be selling 14 units in 1 month! When you work in the motor industry, at first you wonder when you will reach your very first 10 units but now it feels like simple breeze due to the practise, hard work and dedication along the way.
When Sizwe was asked where he sees himself in the next 5 years, he answered so confidently, in a bold stern voice: “I see myself as a DP”. There is no doubt that Sizwe will climb this ladder to success and accomplish all he desires.
He is grateful for having a “strong-knit” team to work with every day and accomplish things with them.
So for now he will enjoy his award and continue working extremely hard towards his goal of becoming a DP one day. He loves a challenge!
