Yellow is regarded as a safe colour for a car. It’s actually quite popular across the world, even though people are described as driving a lemon.
Black is regarded a cool car colour. People that drive black cars are executives mostly or their drivers. Its shows the sleek edges and bold features of a car. Consider black if you are part of the cool kids.
Red is the most popular colour, for obvious reasons. The colour red is sexy. You have to be bold and outgoing to drive a red car. It screams I'm a fast-living, fast-loving, fast-moving individual. It means that you'd be driving a Ferrari if your budget allowed for it.
White cars resemble cleanliness more than anything. “White cars look smart and cool in the same way an all-white outfit looks smart and cool”. If you are all about washing your car more often than not, then white is definitely the colour for you.
There aren't quite so many green cars but they reflect a vibrant playful lifestyle. You are easy going and probably fun and flirty too. Great colour idea for a first car unless if your first car is a Bentley then that’s another story.
Silver cars are currently the most popular They say that you're calm without being ostentatious, ambitious without being flashy, and that you're only one car away from a Mercedes.
Purple cars are not so common and not as cool as the other colours but you will definitely make a statement, not too sure what statement though.
However, cars colours have evolved with the times you no longer get just red. Ford has some candy red and race red just to make it that more exciting, sea grey, copper pulse, cobalt blue, ingot silver, magnetic silver aluminium are some of the different variations you can choose from the list goes on and on. But don't stress if you don’t know the new fancy names: if you ask for the red one, they'll understand.
CMH Ford Durban South would like to congratulate Karen Moodley who has been in the group with Ford Bluff used car department since 2011. Karen chose her profession of Finance and Insurance, because she loves working with people, and is very good with numbers. Karen is very good at what she does and has been one of the top 5 running as Finance and Insurance Manager for used cars in the whole of the CMH group. Her job is to arrange finance and sell insurance products. The good thing about having an in-house Finance and insurance manager is that she is like your personal banker. The dealership becomes a one stop shop. Doing your finance application at the dealership makes the process a lot faster and the Finance and insurance manager negotiates on your behalf for the best deal.
Karen's Responsibilities:
Offering vehicle finance and insurance to customers and providing them with a thorough explanation of aftermarket products and extended warranties and a complete explanation of manufacturer and dealership service procedure policies.
Seeking new lending institutions and maintaining good working relationships to secure competitive interest rates and financing programmes.
Processing finance deals accurately and securing approvals through financial sources institutions.
Understanding and complying with regulations that effect the finance department.
Creating and maintaining a relationship with the sales department and will ensure all new sales are referred to the F&I department.
Training and providing the sales teams with finance benefits and extended services the finance department has to offer.
It is important for her to be an individual whose work habits, integrity, and ethics are respected not only by the clients, but by her co-workers employer and all parties associated with her department.
She ensures empathy and professionalism that clients look for today, I believe she is open with communication and works in a team.
She started off as an assistant, She loved what she did so she studied to become an FNI. She ensures that every client she comes into contact with is a satisfied client. One of the products that the F&I offer is CMH Lifestyle. It’s a personalised package by the CMH group for car owners. It consists of 8 products and you can pick 3 that will benefit you.

Few innovations provide a more wide-ranging performance and efficiency advantage than reducing weight. All factors of a vehicle's capabilities - acceleration, handling, braking, safety, efficiency - can improve through the use of advanced, lighter materials.
The all-new Ford GT features advanced lightweight composites, which will help serve Ford's entire product lineup moving forward. With the broad application of structural carbon fibre elements, the GT will exhibit one of the best power-to-weight ratios of any production car.
Anchored by a carbon fibre passenger cell, the GT features aluminium front and rear subframes encapsulated in structural carbon fibre body panels. Carbon fibre is one of the world's strongest materials for its mass - enabling an ultra-stiff foundation for chassis components while creating a lighter overall package for increased dynamic performance and efficiency.
Aerodynamic efficiency is at the heart of the GT design, actively reducing drag while aiding downforce and stability.
From its optimum tear-drop shape to its aircraft-inspired fuselage and visibility-enhancing curved windshield, every slope and shape are designed to minimise drag and optimise downforce.
Although each surface on the GT is functionally crafted to manage airflow, it also features fully active aerodynamic components to improve braking, handling and stability.
An active rear spoiler is keyed to both speed and driver input, reactively deploying and adjusting its height and/or pitch angle depending on conditions.
While it shares a legacy with classic Ford racing and performance cars, the GT is a fully contemporary and functional shape that communicates modernity and pure beauty.
The state-of-the-art chassis is suspended by an active racing-style torsion bar and pushrod suspension, with adjustable ride height. The 20-inch wheels are shod with Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup 2 tires featuring a unique compound and structure designed specifically for the Ford GT. Multi-spoke wheels encircle carbon-ceramic brake discs at all four corners.
The narrow-profile canopy reduces frontal area and caps a purposeful interior that provides state-of-the-art technology to ensure control, comfort and safety. The two-seat cockpit is accessed by upward-swinging doors and features driver and passenger seats integrated directly into the carbon fibre passenger cell.
This configuration significantly reduces seating hardware and weight and provides a consistent and direct sensory connection to the chassis. The fixed seating is combined with adjustable pedals and steering column to accommodate a very wide range of driver statures.
An F1-style steering wheel integrates all necessary driver controls, creating a stalkless steering column that allows uncluttered access to the transmission paddle-shift controls. A fully digital and configurable instrument cluster provides a wealth of driver-focused data and is also configurable for multiple driving environments and different driving modes.
"While we hope enthusiasts rejoice about this all-new GT, all Ford customers will benefit from the ultimate performance Ford and its new-generation innovations," said Nair.

We at CMH Ford Pretoria had a fun and exciting April. Filled with a lot of hard work and events.
We had 2 mall events one in Quagga Centre in the first week of April, and one in the third week of April at Wonderpark mall.
Both of these events were a huge success with us receiving a lot of attention on the vehicles we had on display.
Our third event was at Munies Pretoria Municipality Recreational club on Easter weekend. Where we were supporting their sporting events. Along with showing 4 different classes of Ford vehicles. And we would like to thank Munies for the invitation to come and show our vehicles.
We would also like to thank Wonder Park Mall for inviting use to come and show a Ford Focus RS for the opening of the new The Fast and Furious film. It was a great experience for us as a dealer to showcase one of our top sports vehicles.
And lastly, we had some great specials for the end of April, after the Easter weekend.
We had a wonderful month as a dealer and would like to thank all our clients for making this possible.
The above-mentioned statement is ideal if you are doing all the work yourself, but when you go through CMH Kempster Ford Hatfield’s F&I team, rate comparisons are done for you, and the response time is much quicker.

We at CMH Kempster Ford Pretoria had an awesome January with a lot of sales done by The New vehicle department and Second-hand vehicle department.
We sold a total of 95 vehicles in January with new vehicles selling 53 vehicles and the Used department selling 42 in total.
We also had two displays set up one at Quagga Mall in Pretoria west and one at Wonderpark Mall.
These two displays offered a great experience for our team and client with us offering some insight into the performance and technology of the Ford Mustang and RS. We also thought it would be a great match to show off the New 2.2 Everest paired with the Ford Ranger 2.2 Xl Auto double cab.
All four of these vehicles received a lot of attention and kept our sales executives on their feet.
We will be back at Quagga Mall in the 6th of February and the 13th we will be back in Wonderpark mall.
We are looking forward to be seeing all of our loyal and supporting customers again.
What do you enjoy the most about your job?
I’m a people’s person, I love building relationships and bonding with people. I always put my clients first and they truly are very important to me. To recognise my clients, to bond with them, seeing them come back for their next service and staying loyal to our dealership, it really gives me that heart-warming feeling.
What is your mission and vision for our workshop here at CMH Ford Pretoria North?
My goal is to become a prime dealer. I really want this workshop to become the best and I want the staff members to be passionate, proud and ambitious about their work, and for us to really strive towards excellence.
Have you ever felt like you should just give up, or has anyone pressured you to try something else other than working in a traditionally male-dominated industry?
No, nobody ever told me to do something else. Everyone sometimes hesitates in life, but luckily I have my team and top technicians to assist me, each one of us has a role and a gap to fill and together we are one solid team. I also have my family who keeps on supporting me and most of them are in the motor industry so there is no chance of giving up!
How does it feel to be among only a handful of women in the industry?
It’s definitely a “WOW!” feeling. I think it’s fantastic that the head office of CMH actually promotes it. I believe we live in a world where times are changing and anyone can follow their dreams, it doesn’t matter who you are. I also worked for a female workshop manager, Jeanette, and I believe she is one of the best!
Have there been any times when you have been questioned or ignored in your job just because you are a woman?
Yes, I’ve experienced it before, but I won’t get offended in that kind of situations. I want my clients to be comfortable, happy, and for them to trust us, that is what service is all about at the end of the day.
What words of advice can you give to women-up-and-comers in the industry?
The women in the motor industry need to be “tough cookies”. If you look around in the dealerships you will notice that it is becoming more and more common to see woman working in this industry nowadays simply, because we can! Don’t ever give up, believe in yourself and don’t let anyone ever make you feel that you are not good enough.
CMH Ford Pretoria & Hatfield recently helped the Ford Wildlife Foundation by taking the opportunity to assist the National Zoological Gardens in Pretoria.
The Pretoria Zoo welcomed us with open arms and it was a great experience for me and our whole team.
FORD WILDLIFE FOUNDATION – CLEANING OF THE PRETORIA ZOO
The approach of the Ford Wildlife Foundation presented multiple opportunities to Kempster Ford Pretoria. We could live the promise our brand presents to the world for being environmentally friendly and we could do something for our community of animals and people. The City of Tshwane recently announced a new focus on cleaning up the Pretoria Zoo area and making it friendly and accessible to everybody in Tshwane.
Our team grabbed the opportunity and gave their all in order to make life easier for both animal and human in the Zoo area. Alien plants were removed and all manner of other cleaning tasks were executed with Ford-like energy whilst they also had fun. The Pretoria Zoo is around the corner from our 80 year old landmark dealership and they do say “charity starts at home”.
Thank you Pretoria Zoo for the great opportunity.

“It's because we share our customers’ passion for Fiesta that we’ve been able to take this iconic small car’s lovable, fun and sporty-to-drive character to the next level, with a greater choice of models than ever and each with a distinctive personality,” said Jim Farley, executive vice president and president, Europe Middle East and Africa, Ford Motor Company. "We now have a Fiesta option for every driver, including the luxurious Fiesta Vignale and the Fiesta Active crossover, with advanced technologies and features that small-car customers could only have dreamed of just a few years ago."
Powering the generation Fiesta is a duo of engines familiar to the current Fiesta range. Ford's award-winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine is the single petrol option developing 102kW, and for the first time a higher output turbodiesel engine will be available. The 1.5-litre TDCi mill will develop 88kW - a 33kW gain over the current generation 1.5-litre engine - and when mated to the all-new six speed gearbox, Ford claims (both engines) will emit just 82g/km of CO2.
Ford’s SYNC 3 communications and entertainment system will enable Fiesta drivers to control audio, navigation and connected smartphones using simple, conversational voice commands such as “I need a coffee,” “I need petrol,” and “I need to park”. Drivers can locate nearby cafés, petrol stations or car parks, and find train stations, airports, and hotels simply using the sophisticated voice control. The system is also compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The new B&O PLAY systems will ensure a step up for in-car audio, with ten speakers including a boot-mounted subwoofer, and featuring a total of 675 watts and powered by a digital signal amplifier with selectable surround sound.
